  • I don't know if Yank Rachel ever played "Sitting on top of the world" (aka "Things about coming my way," "You've got to move," "It hurts me too" etc.etc.) but it is a really good tune for illustrating the basics of his style: just play the tune with a few simple ornamental runs and tremolo on the long notes. On its own it sounds really tacky, but remember there's supposed to be a rhythm section here too and probably a singer doubling the melodic line too.

    The midi file here has some really lousy tremolo playing btw, I'm sure you can do much better yourself. ;-)
